Is Buckingham Palace still the Queen's main residence?

London (CNN) Think of the Queen and  think of Buckingham Palace. there with the White House as one of the  most famous addresses in the world. Tourists typically take a taxi or  bus, hop off to take a photo of the famous balustrades, perhaps stay for the changing of the guard just before lunchtime, and then head  to the next destination on their list. So why the charm, especially when most people don't even come in? They come because it's the home of the living, breathing British monarchy and they grew up seeing it in films and history books. None of that has changed. It's still the Queen's seat, but she no longer spends the night.. for all intents and purposes, in what used to be her weekend home at Windsor Castle.Reports this week  suggested the move is permanent. Charles could demonstrate his desire for a leaner and more efficient monarchy by opening the building to wider public use. could rent it out for events and exhibitions. If you consider that Buckingham Palace has 775 rooms, including 19 cabins, 240 bedrooms and 92 offices, it could probably  be used more efficiently than  in the past. But as a tourist, will you be visiting an office? Isn't the idea that the queen actually lives there  appealing to the place?
